Silvia Heinrich’s cuvée of Blaufränkisch and Merlot is hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts, and rests for 18 months in used small oak barrels. The natural harmony of Blaufränkisch and Merlot results in powerful, dark berry fruit, elegantly underlined by herbal and spice aromas. Notes of blueberries, orange zest, eucalyptus, mint, and pine needles, surrounded by well-dosed barrel spice, convey an almost mature character. On the palate, the wine is juicy, fleshy, and velvety soft, yet at the same time shows focus, elegance, and masterful balance.
