Madiran Plénitude 2018

The Plénitude is the modern face of Madiran: Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc from the clay soils of the best vineyards in Viella, Cannet, and Maumusson-Laguian, after hand-harvesting and 12 to 14 months of aging in barriques, come together to form a profound, complex wine. Slightly smoky, dense and compact, and above all powerful, it shows aromas of black currants and blackberries on the nose, accompanied by nuances of leather, coffee, truffles, smoked bacon, cinnamon, and cloves. On the palate, it knows how to dose its energy well, the tannin elegantly envelops the palate. A long finish rounds off the wine. A great companion to hearty grilled meat dishes.
