Henri Champliau Cremant de Bourgogne Petrone 68 Blanc de Blancs Brut
Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 5 years. No need for decanting, simply chill and serve.
Established in 2016 by Alexandre Graffard, the Henri Champliau winery crafts sparkling wines in Mercurey, located in the heart of Burgundy, using both the Charmat and Champenoise methods. Named after the founder’s grandfather, a passionate enthusiast of horse racing and wine, the winery operates as a negociant, personally selecting the grapes used in their wines to guarantee the highest quality.
The name of this particular wine pays homage to Henri Champliau’s love for horse racing and commemorates Petrone’s victories at Paris Longchamp and in the United States. It is a blend of Chardonnay, Colombard, and Ugni Blanc. The grapes are fermented in horizontal tanks to maximize contact with the lees, allowing for optimal extraction of aromatic potential. Before release, the wine is aged for 3 months to achieve perfect integration of the bubbles.
Crémant de Bourgogne Petrone 68 Blanc de Blancs Brut presents a lively, clear color with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose reveals vibrant aromas of yellow fruit, particularly apple and pear, along with citrus notes. On the palate, it is fresh, round, and soft, with a long and delicately citrusy finish. This Crémant is perfect as an aperitif, can be used in cocktails, and pairs well with vegetarian starters.
