F.X. Pichler – Riesling Ried Trum 2023

The wine has a fragrance of juicy and very ripe apricot fruit with a delicate smoky spice. On the palate, it unfolds elegant ripe fruit notes reminiscent of pear and vineyard peach with a lot of pressure. The delicious acidity gives this Riesling a wonderfully stylish and balanced finish.

The small single vineyard Ried Trum is entirely south-facing and is located below the railway line between Dürnstein and Unterloiben. The hillside location with eroded primary rock sand from the Loibenberg is the Danube-side extension of the famous Ried Schütt. The predominant geology is Gföhler Gneis, mixed with windblown loess. The age of the vines is about 30 years.
