El Enemigo As Bravas Malbec 2016
Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour before serving.
Alejandro Vigil and Catena’s youngest daughter, Adrianna, joined forces in 2009 to establish Bodegas Aleanna in the Uco Valley. They produce traditional, approachable, and food-friendly Argentinian wines. Their vineyards span several areas, including Lujan de Cuyo, Gualtallary, and Tupungato.
This exceptional Argentinian red wine is crafted from Malbec with small additions of white Semillon grapes, sourced from a plot located in the Cordón El Cepillo, on colluvial soil with marine limestone. After fermentation in cement tanks at a controlled temperature and cold maceration for 5 days, the finished wine rests for 64 months in foudres and then for a year in the bottle.
As Bravas Malbec has a complex and intense aromatic profile, showcasing notes of ripe dark fruit and undergrowth, complemented by spicy and tobacco hints. On the palate, it is a juicy and energetic wine, thanks to a pronounced mineral vein and bright acidity. It is an elegant and austere wine with a long and flavorful finish. It’s ready to be uncorked now and pairs perfectly with a beef filet, but if you’re feeling generous, you can cellar it for a decade or more.
