This plush Pinot Noir, sourced from cool-climate vineyards in Sonoma County, opens with bright and inviting aromas of cherry, strawberry, and violet. From the first sip, this approachable and charming wine reveals a silky-smooth texture, gentle tannins, and pure flavors of red berries, sweet molasses, and cedar. Following Duckhorn’s signature style, the wine spends eight months aging in French oak barrels, with 30% of the blend matured in new oak.

With its easy-going and versatile character, Decoy Pinot Noir is an ideal accompaniment to a variety of dishes, especially duck preparations like duck à l’orange, Peking duck with plum sauce, and duck confit. It also pairs beautifully with seared tuna steaks or a festive roast turkey with cranberry sauce.  

The grapes for this vintage benefited from a warm spring in Sonoma, which resulted in early bud break and an extended flowering period. The harvest occurred early and yielded fruit of exceptional quality, with intense concentration, refreshing acidity, and deep, dark fruit flavors. Duckhorn Vineyards sources the grapes for this wine from partner growers who cultivate prime vineyards in the Russian River Valley, Carneros, and Sonoma Coast appellations.
