Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is a cornerstone of the Alsace wine region. Established in 1959 through the union of two esteemed winegrowing families—the Humbrechts from Gueberschwihr and the Zinds from Wintzenheim—the domaine benefits from generations of viticultural knowledge and a deep connection to the land.

During the 1960s and 70s, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht sought to revitalize abandoned vineyard sites throughout Alsace. Many of these sites, often located on steep hillsides that are challenging to cultivate, have since become some of the region’s most prized vineyards.

“Zind” is a 100% Chardonnay crafted from grapes grown in the limestone-rich Clos Windsbuhl. This terroir imparts a distinct minerality and complexity to the wine.

The nose is captivating, with an initial impression of wet slate, followed by citrus fruits, peach, and yellow apple. Fermented in oak and aged on its lees until bottling, this Chardonnay has a medium body and a luscious, buttery texture. However, it remains a perfect choice for those who appreciate dry wines, as it boasts a high acidity and a bone-dry palate. Flavors of white-fleshed fruit, lemon zest, and honeysuckle mingle with a pronounced minerality.

This wine is a wonderful accompaniment to a variety of Alsatian pork dishes, fresh seafood, or a selection of cheeses.
