Located in the heart of the legendary Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Domaine Raymond Usseglio is a third-generation winery currently led by Stéphane Usseglio. The estate cultivates 18 hectares of vines in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and an additional 5 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône.

Since 2015, the domaine has been a certified biodynamic farm, a transition overseen by Stéphane himself. He embraces a variety of winemaking techniques, with a preference for fermenting grapes in concrete vats. However, for “Les Apôtres,” he draws inspiration from the past. This limited-production cuvée is fermented and aged entirely in clay amphorae, a nod to ancient winemaking traditions.

“Les Apôtres” is a truly stunning and maximalist red blend. Just like Jesus and his 12 Apostles, there are 13 grape varieties permitted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and this wine includes them all! “Les Apôtres” offers a captivating array of aromas, from wild black fruits and rose petals to spicy notes of cardamom, pepper, and graphite. It’s complex and potent on the palate, with concentrated flavors of red and black fruit. The long, clear finish reveals hints of licorice and balsamic vinegar.

This wine is a perfect companion for rich beef dishes, savory anchovies, or a flavorful Moroccan chickpea tagine.
