Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Trois Terres Vieilles Vignes 2022
This one’s ready to go whenever you are! Enjoy it now, or let it age gracefully in your cellar for up to 15 years. And to truly elevate the experience, decant it for an hour before serving.
Trois Terres (“Three Lands”) is a captivating Pinot Noir crafted from old vines grown in three distinct Marsannay vineyards: Longeroies, Es Chezots, and Clos du Roy. It shimmers in the glass with a deep garnet hue and enchants the nose with a stunning bouquet of sour red cherry, tangy cranberry, delicate rose petals, warm spices, and earthy notes reminiscent of a damp forest floor.
Though the Domaine Jean Fournier winery was officially established in 1962 by Jean Fournier, the family’s winemaking roots in Marsannay run deep, stretching all the way back to the 17th century! Today, Jean’s son Laurent carries on the tradition, embracing organic winemaking practices to let the true character of the terroir shine through.
Trois Terres is a mature and beautifully balanced expression of Marsannay. On the palate, it’s a harmonious blend of red and black fruit flavors, subtle spice notes, and a hint of gravelly minerality. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity provide structure and elegance, ensuring this Pinot Noir will age gracefully. It’s a perfect pairing for herby meats, roasted poultry, or pungent cheeses like Comté.
