Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Saint Urbain Rouge 2022
This wine is ready to steal the show whenever you are! Enjoy it now, or let it evolve in your cellar for up to 10 years. And to truly unlock its potential, decant it for about an hour before serving.
Saint Urbain is a complex Pinot Noir that beautifully showcases the diversity of Domaine Jean Fournier’s vineyards. It entices you with a captivating bouquet of black cherry, cranberry, and wild raspberry, intertwined with notes of dried herbs, sun-baked earth, and a touch of spice. If you want a true taste of Marsannay, this is it.
Domaine Jean Fournier is led by Laurent Fournier, son of the winery’s namesake. While the winery was officially founded in 1962, the Fournier family has been an integral part of the Marsannay wine scene for centuries—their presence dates back to the 1600s!
Saint Urbain is a medium-bodied red that’s bursting with vibrant fruit flavors. Think juicy raspberry, tangy stewed cranberry, and a hint of violet, all complemented by earthy notes and a touch of graphite. The ethereal tannins and balanced acidity create a wonderfully smooth and silky finish. This wine spent a year aging in oak barrels, followed by five months in the bottle, allowing its complexity to fully develop. Grapes from the renowned Etalles, Longeroies, and Ouzeloy vineyards were all used in its creation. Pair it with hard cheeses, roasted poultry, or classic Burgundy meat dishes for a truly memorable experience.
