Clos du Roy is a seriously elegant red wine with a surprising twist. It pours a deep, almost inky ruby color—much darker than your typical Pinot Noir. Take a sniff, and you’ll be greeted by an intense bouquet of ripe cherry, strawberry, and violet, all layered over subtle earthy notes and a touch of oaky spice. This wine hails from the Clos du Roy vineyard, way up in the northern reaches of Marsannay, Burgundy. It’s perched 270 meters above sea level on unique clay-limestone soil, which gives it a distinct personality.

Domaine Jean Fournier, the estate behind this beauty, has a history dating back to the 17th century! But the winery as we know it was established in 1962 by Jean Fournier himself. Today, his son Laurent runs the show, and he’s all about organic practices, letting the true character of that Marsannay terroir shine through in every sip.

Clos du Roy is a medium-bodied wine that dances across your palate with grace.
