Located in the southeastern corner of Moldova, just 30km from the Black Sea, Chateau Purcari has a long-standing reputation for producing top-quality wines from both local and international grape varieties. In the 19th century, French settlers who came to the region recognized the similarities between the local climate and that of their native Bordeaux. They partnered with the local monastery to introduce French grape varietals to the area.

In 1827, Purcari was officially established as Bessarabia’s first winery by the Russian Tsar Nicholas I, and its wines began to attract international acclaim, winning gold medals at the 1878 Paris World Exhibition. Today, the winery is recognized as one of the finest in the region, renowned for its robust, Bordeaux-style reds and elegant white wines, such as this graceful Traminer, which was awarded 97 points and a platinum medal at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards.

The grapes for this light and refreshing white wine are sourced from estate vineyards near the Black Sea and are carefully harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate aromas and vibrant acidity of the Traminer grape. The wine entices with aromas of jasmine, late-blooming roses, peach, and lemon. On the palate, it offers a refreshing acidity and a clean, pure finish. Serve this wine as a delightful aperitif or as an accompaniment to cheeses, summer salads, or grilled fish and Mediterranean vegetables.
