Chateau Purcari is a renowned winery in Moldova, situated in the southeastern part of the country between the Dniester River and the Black Sea. As early as the 18th century, French settlers recognized the exceptional quality of this region’s soil and established a successful viticultural partnership with local monasteries around the village of Purcari. The soil and climate of Purcari bear a striking resemblance to those of Bordeaux, France. Both regions share the same latitude and possess rubidium-rich soils, which contribute to the distinctive character of the wines.

Purcari became Moldova’s first specialized winery in 1827 and has held a special place in the hearts of European wine lovers ever since. In recent decades, the winery has undergone extensive modernization, and vineyards planted at the turn of the millennium are now yielding exceptional fruit that rivals the quality of Bordeaux.

This 100% Saperavi wine exhibits rich aromas of plum, cassis, and blackberries. Characteristic of this Georgian grape variety, the wine displays a deep ruby color with glints of violet. On the palate, it envelops the mouth with decadent dark fruit flavors, supported by velvety tannins and a long, evolving finish. Serve this wine at room temperature alongside rich meat dishes such as game or herby lamb chops.
