Chateau Purcari Cuvee de Purcari Feteasca Alba Brut

This sparkling wine is ready to be enjoyed now, but can also be cellared for up to 8 years. There’s no need to decant, but chilling it well before serving will enhance its refreshing character.

Founded nearly two centuries ago, Château Purcari is situated in the Ștefan Vodă region of southeastern Moldova, nestled between the Dniester River and the Black Sea. It holds the title of the most prestigious winery in Central Europe and the oldest in Moldova. Its wines, crafted from grapes cultivated in the estate’s own vineyards, are renowned and appreciated worldwide.

This particular sparkling wine is produced exclusively from hand-selected Feteasca Alba grapes, a variety native to the Stefan Voda wine district. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s fresh and vibrant character. The second fermentation, which creates the bubbles, occurs in the bottle following the traditional Champenoise method. The wine then undergoes a minimum of 12 months of aging on the lees (spent yeast cells), adding complexity and texture.

Chateau Purcari Cuvee de Purcari Feteasca Alba Brut displays a bright greenish-yellow color and a fine, persistent perlage (stream of bubbles). Its aromatic profile is rich and inviting, with fruity notes of green apple, delicate wildflowers, and subtle hints of honey. On the palate, it is soft and elegant, with a harmonious balance of freshness and richness. The finish is long and persistent, echoing the floral notes. This versatile sparkling wine complements a variety of dishes, but it is especially well-suited to seafood.
