Chateau La Nerthe is one of the most prestigious wineries in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region. The estate, which spans 92 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, has been owned by the Richard family since 1985. However, its history and tradition go back much further, with its wines already renowned in the late 18th century.

Les Cassagnes Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Viognier grapes. These grapes are hand-harvested from vines grown in clay-limestone soils interspersed with the iconic pebbles of the Rhône Valley. The vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate that’s particularly well-suited to white wine production, thanks to cool nights that help the grapes retain acidity. Each grape variety is vinified separately—Roussanne in oak and the others in stainless steel—and then aged on the lees before blending and bottling.

This wine displays a beautiful golden yellow color with greenish highlights. Its aromatic profile is intense and fresh, featuring notes of citrus and white flowers, hints of almonds, and a subtle minerality. On the palate, it’s fresh and flavorful, with a vibrant acidity and a lovely fruitiness. The distinct acidity and minerality contribute to its complexity. The finish is long and refreshing.

This wine is excellent as an aperitif, and it also pairs well with dishes like Provençal cod, scallop risotto, and goat cheese.
