Displaying an intense ruby red hue in the glass, this Marsannay is brimming with personality. It opens with a bouquet of red currants and raspberries, purple flowers, warm spice, and subtle hints of toasted bread. The fruit originates from Es Chezots, a 2-hectare vineyard situated on sandy, clayish soils, nestled between two valleys in the Marsannay appellation.

Chateau de Marsannay marks the first stop on Burgundy’s “Route des Grand Crus” and has been a certified organic farm since 2021. It encompasses 34 hectares in the heart of the Cote de Nuits, encompassing a tapestry of diverse terroirs that constitute one of the finest red wine regions in France.

As is characteristic of Marsannay, Es Chezots is both silky and powerful on the palate. Its supple, fruity character is built upon a foundation of round tannins. Anticipate notes of cherry, raspberry, and violet, complemented by earthy hints of cinnamon, forest floor, and star anise. It offers good levels of acidity and excellent length, leading into pronounced mineral notes on the finish. This Pinot Noir will pair superbly with poultry, red meats, or even a rich chocolate cake.
