Family Legacy in Chavot

Located in the charming village of Chavost, nestled southwest of Epernay on a limestone hill, Laherte Frères has been a family-run winery since 1889. Today, the sixth generation, Aurélien Laherte, leads the estate, embracing biodynamic principles that prioritize respect for tradition and natural methods over chemical intervention. Each cru is vinified separately to highlight the nuances of the terroir, and the resulting wines are carefully blended to create Champagnes that are harmonious, elegant, and fruit-driven.

“Les Grandes Crayères”

“Les Grandes Crayères” is crafted from Chardonnay grapes sourced from old vines grown in the eponymous parcel in the Coteaux Sud d’Epernay. This exceptional terroir imparts complexity and depth to the wine. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in barriques, and the second fermentation occurs in the bottle, where the Champagne rests on its lees until the following February, when it undergoes disgorgement and bottling. This Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs is characterized by its remarkable finesse, structure, and elegance.
